There are also many men who come from working-class backgrounds who have fathers who have been highly paid in the workplace. There is a huge amount of social and cultural pressure for men to have children as early as possible, especially within marriageable age, so the gender of the child is very important. All this reflects the way the world as we know it is today, rather than biological facts.
